hnRNP E1 Interacts with hnRNP L
Choi Mie-Young

Abstract
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein L (hnRNP L) is one of the principal pre-mRNA binding proteins found in human cells. The hnRNP L protein is a nucleocytoplasmic shuttling protein. It is composed of 558 amino acid residues and harbors four loosely-conserved RNP-consensus RNA-binding domains. In an attempt to identify the binding partners of hnRNP L, yeast two-hybrid screening was conducted using a human liver cDNA library. One of the cDNA clones was determined to harbor a partial human hnRNP E1 (poly(rC) binding protein 1) cDNA (GeneBank accession number XM_031585). In this study, I have determined that hnRNP L interacts specifically with the hnRNP E1 in the yeast two-hybrid system. This interaction was verified via in vitro pull-down assay.
